Series Synopsis

When the weather begins to warm in Minnesota, Miles feels the familiar rush of excitement—summer is coming. Miles is a seven year old boy, and since he was four, he’s spent every summer living with his grandparents on an island far across the sea. Each visit has been nothing short of an adventure.

On the island, there are no cell phones, no televisions, and no video games—heck, there are barely any cars. It’s a peaceful, remote place where nature is the ultimate playground. Here, Miles meets Nan, a young mama bear in the making, and Ripple, a lively and playful sea otter. Over time, they become his two best—and most trusted—friends.

Miles is endlessly curious and wildly imaginative. While his creativity is usually encouraged, it can sometimes lead to unexpected chaos when it goes a little too far. Throughout the animated series, with the help of Ripple and Nan, Miles will learn essential life lessons that help him tackle real-world challenges—challenges that require more than just imagination. In every episode, Miles will come to understand that knowing right from wrong—and making good choices—takes empathy, self-awareness, and heart.

Miles Across the Sea explores themes that model positive behaviors such as patience, perseverance, and forgiveness—traits that help Miles build character and confidence as he grows into a kind and virtuous young man.

Ann Powell is an accomplished entrepreneur with a 28-year track record building billion-dollar consumer brands, including the DonRuss, Playoff, Leaf, and Score trading card companies. As a former CEO leading more than 1,500 employees, she brings deep expertise in licensing, merchandising, marketing, and revenue growth. Now driven by her personal mission to help families raise children of strong character, Ann leads *Miles Across the Sea* with a clear focus on creating values-based entertainment that resonates with today’s parents — while building scalable, multi-channel returns for investors and partners.

Jamy Wheless-Executive Producer

Jamy Wheless is an acclaimed animation director and executive producer whose work spans major film franchises including *Star Wars*, *Pirates of the Caribbean*, *Hulk*, and *The Chronicles of Narnia*. A former senior animator at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Jamy brings world-class storytelling expertise and deep production experience to *Miles Across the Sea*, ensuring creative excellence and market appeal for today’s family audiences.

As CEO and Animation Director of his company IGNITE Animation Studios, Jamy co-directed the Oscar nominated short film “The Pig on the Hill,” narrated by Pierce Brosnan, and produced and directed his award-winning short film “ANDY,” released in 2023.

Nina Rappaport Rowan-Executive Producer

Nina Rappaport Rowan is an award-winning executive producer whose credits include global family hits such as *Despicable Me* and *Bunny*. With extensive experience leading animated feature films and cross- platform franchises, Nina is a proven expert in developing beloved, values- driven content for children and parents. Her industry relationships and creative leadership play a key role in the success of *Miles Across the Sea*.

As the Executive Producer of Despicable Me (2010),

Nina played a pivotal role in launching one of the most successful animated franchises in history. Her expertise in animation and storytelling is further exemplified by her creation of Kimochis®, a line of educational toys designed to enhance children’s emotional intelligence, now utilized in thousands of schools worldwide.

Rowan has created a new pre-school series that is currently in development at Disney.

Donna Clower–Strategic Marketing & Partnerships

Donna Clower is an accomplished music and entertainment executive with a track record of creating strategic partnerships and driving revenue growth. As Co-Founder of Antler Ventures, a strategic marketing and advisory firm based in Park City, Utah, she focuses on securing high-value brand partnerships, licensing, sponsorships, and financing opportunities for creative ventures.

Previously, Donna served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing & Artist Development for Sony Music Entertainment, where she led groundbreaking alliances for global artists across RCA Music Group and Zomba Label Group.

Throughout her career, Donna has developed partnerships with leading brands including Microsoft, L’Oreal, Verizon Wireless, American Express, NFL, NBA, USTA, Sony Electronics, Pepsi, Google, Target, and General Motors. Earlier roles include VP at J Records under Clive Davis, Director of Special Markets at Arista Records, and tour marketing at Capitol Records.

Her expertise in cross-industry partnerships will help *Miles Across the Sea* unlock sponsorship, licensing, and merchandising opportunities on a global scale.
